Monday 20th July 1998
As John drove through Sunday night, into Monday we stopped off along
the way a few times to rest & to get freshened up. For me I spent allot
of the journey dozing on & off, pretending to John that I was just
resting my eyes ! & that I wasn't really sleeping most of the way.
Some of the roads had quite big bumps in them & the trailer got
bounced around allot. About 20 miles from our destination John's radiator
cap blew off, as his engine was so hot. Luckily he was able to take the
one from the Sudden Impact truck & use it on the rig. It was then that
we discovered that another one of the strobe lights in the trailer had
come crashing down along with other stuff, being thrown around in the back
of the trailer. Also Sudden Impact itself was leaning against the side
of the trailer, as it's the sway bars which keep the truck upright, along
with the shock absorbers Which where both broken.
We eventually got back to the home of Sudden Impact at about 8pm.
There John got straight down to unloading Sudden Impact, with the
help of his crew.

To get the truck out of the trailer, John & his friends had to
jack up the side of the truck to get it level, before he could reverse
it out of the trailer.
Jacking up the Sudden Impact
John then put the truck back into the garage.
Here is a key to some of the parts John broke on his truck at Springfield.
