August 29th 1998

Pictures & story by Richard Scott & Tessa Booth.
Edited by Andrew Fielder.
On August 29th 1998, the relative silence of Shenandoah Valley, Virginia
was interrupted by the violent thunder of 1500hp alcohol burning engines.
This was saturday night at the Page County Fair, where five top Monster Trucks came together to do battle at the fairgrounds.
The trucks there, where G-Force driven by Alan Tura from Warren, Ohio. Virginia Giant, driven by Diehl Wilson from Winchester, Virginia. Thunder Dog driven by Larry Meyerhoeffer from Port Republic, Virginia. West Virginia Mountaineer, driven by Robert Gray out of Rippon West Virginia, and Gary Porters Carolina Crusher from Wadesboro, North Carolina. There was also the Virginia Giant Ride truck, giving out free rides before the show started.
