  Making a Monster Truck

Monster Truck Racing at the Metrodome, Minneapolis, Minnesota. November 98

On November the 28th, at the Metrodome in Minnesota, Monster Patrol, Grave Digger, Bear Foot, Bulldozer, Executioner, Equalizer, Little Tiger, Predator, and Samson came face to face to do battle.
The track was kind of short, so the trucks had some trouble trying to stop at the end of the track. A few trucks even hit the wall. No major dammage though, just a few minor dents.

Round 1:
Round 1 is always exciting, because you get to see all of the trucks racing. So it makes for exciting and high flyin' racing.
Race 1: Little Tiger-vs-Bye
Winner: Little Tiger
Since there was only 9 trucks there, one truck got a bye run. And that was Little Tiger. He made a good run for a fast time.

Race 2: Samson-vs-Predator
Winner: Samson
This was a very close race. They had to show the replay a few times. They finally named the winner Samson.

Race 3: Monster Patrol-vs-Equalizer
Winner: Monster Patrol
This was a very exciting race. Monster Patrol almost flipped over. He got a bad launch and hit the dirt ramp in the middle for the pro arena trucks. Both tires have to be on the ramp when the truck goes over. They almost decided that both of Monster Patrol's tires were on the ramp. It was a very close call.

Race 4: Executioner-vs-Grave Digger
Winner: Grave Digger
This was not a close race. Executioner missed a gear, so he fell way behind as Grave Digger wizzed by for the win.

Race 5: Bear Foot-vs-Bulldozer
Winner: Bear Foot
Bear Foot wizzed be for an easy win. Bulldozer was running in only 2 wheel drive, so he spun the tires at the begining whitch gave him no traction and lost the race.

Round 2:

Race 1: Little Tiger-vs-Samson
Winner: Samson
This wasn't a blow-out race, but samson did win by about a half a truck length. Samson just over powered Little Tiger.

Race 2: Monster Patrol-vs-Predator
Winner: Monster Partol
Predator came back as a fast loser. This was probably the closest race of the night. After playing the replay about 10 times, they gave Monster Patrol the win.

Race 3: Bear Foot-vs-Grave Digger
Winner: Grave Digger
Well, there isn't much to say about this race, just that Grave Digger got a quicker start.

Semi-Finals:

Race 1: Samson-vs-Monster Patrol
Winner: Monster Patrol
Monster Patrol had an easy win. On the ramp for the second set of cars, Samson bounced and the nose of the truck went sky-high, and Monster Patrol flew by.

Race 2: Grave Digger-vs-Bear Foot
Winner: Grave Digger
This was a very close race. Bear Foot ripped the tire off trying to stop before he hit the wall. That gave Grave Digger the win.
